Robinhood Launches “WealthBuilder” AI Portfolio Planner to Personalize Investor Journeys

Robinhood has announced the official release of WealthBuilder, a new AI-driven portfolio planning tool designed to personalize investment strategies based on users’ goals, timeframes, risk tolerance, and activity preferences. The new feature, initially rolled out in beta to select users, is now broadly available across Robinhood’s U.S. customer base .

WealthBuilder uses machine learning algorithms to assess hundreds of market and personal data points—like historic market cycles, ETF risk profiles, and even user behaviors on the platform—to recommend diversified portfolios that are automatically rebalanced over time. Users can specify objectives such as “save for a home,” “early retirement,” or “emergency fund,” and WealthBuilder provides tailored ETF baskets to match. It also suggests risk-adjusted cash buffers to protect against market downturns and automated contributions for portfolio growth .

Robinhood’s Head of Product, Anita Patel, said the goal is to bring institutional-grade portfolio design to individual investors without the barrier of expensive financial advisors. “We want to make long-term investing simpler, more engaging, and tuned to each user’s life story,” she stated .

Early beta feedback shows that 75% of participants follow through with recommended contributions and rebalancing, with an average target allocation adherence of 90%. Robinhood plans to integrate educational nudges alongside WealthBuilder, offering bite-size lessons on investing psychology and tax optimization .

📌 Why It Matters:

  • Elevates the democratization of personalized investing
  • Blurs the line between fintech and robo-advisors
  • Could shift the platform’s positioning from trading-first to wealth-building-first
