Coinbase has announced the launch of its DAO Infrastructure Suite, a comprehensive platform enabling decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to manage proposals, votes, and funds directly from their Coinbase accounts. The suite includes integrated treasury management, on-chain voting modules, and a dashboard for tracking allocations across multiple chains.
The product targets Web3 projects, community-led initiatives, and emerging DAOs seeking institutional-grade security and usability. Members can now initiate proposals for funding or protocol changes, receive and cast votes securely on-chain, and execute transactions—all without exporting funds to external multisignature wallets.
Coinbase CTO Philip Martin emphasized that security and simplicity were central to the offering. “We’ve built a suite that provides the clarity and safety of Coinbase Custody while enabling DAO-native workflows entirely within our interface,” he stated. The release follows Coinbase’s rollout of base-layer smart contract features in 2024, designed to bring institutional capabilities to public blockchains.
Early adopters include several mid-sized DAOs focused on decentralized social media and carbon credits, with one such DAO reporting a successful vote on treasury allocation and multisig execution completed on Ethereum within a ten-minute window.
This initiative comes amid a broader trend of centralized platforms offering DAO tooling: Fireblocks, Argent, and Aragon have launched competing suites. Coinbase’s offering stands out due to its integration with existing trading, custodial, and compliance services—addressing regulatory and operational concerns that many DAOs face.
